Catherine Palace, view from the Park
Catherine Palace is an extraordinary baroque palace featuring rooms decorated with gold and mirrors. During your visit, you’ll have an unique opportunity to visit the impressive Amber Room.

The Grand Hall
The sculptural and ornamental carving that covers the walls of the Great Hall in a single continuous pattern was produced by 130 Russian woodcarvers working from sketches by Rastrelli and models by the decorative sculptor Johann Franz Duncker.

The Upper Bathhouse, Catherine Park
On the edge of the Mirror Pond in the Catherine Park stands the Upper Bathhouse pavilion that was constructed in 1777–79 by the architects Vasily and Ilya Neyelov.

Hanging Garden
Before the garden was laid out the vaults were covered with sheets of lead to protect them from moisture and then topped with a layer of soil in which plants could flourish. In the eighteenth century apple-trees, lilacs, jasmine and roses grew here. Tulips, peonies and daffodils were planted around the bushes.
